Situated in the middle of the Mayan Riviera, the Caribbean seaside town of Playa del Carmen is a popular tourist destination for North Americans and Europeans. It has a tropical pool courtyard with a poolside bar, and a Zen Eco Spa that features traditional Mayan treatments such as honey body wraps and Itza massages. Breakfast at the adjacent restaurant is included in the room rate. La Tortuga Hotel and Spa Hotel Deseo This adults-only boutique hotel is ideal for the young and trendy traveler. The hotel entrance is off the busy Quinta Avenida, with pyramid-style stone steps. Rooms are minimalist and romantic, and the hotel has a mix of lounge and Latin music throughout the common areas and two pools.
